Samsung Electronics has just issued a statement that they will be offering refunds for PCs purchased by consumers because of a design flaw in a bunch of Intel’s latest Sandy Bridge chips. NEC on the other hand, will be working on delaying the release of several PC models while Intel fixes the situation. Having said that, let us concentrate on what Samsung has to offer – refunds or exchanges for half a dozen PC models that are on sale in South Korea with one in the US, affecting around 2,000 to 3,000 units that have been sold since they were introduced in January. This is a responsible corporate move, so kudos to Samsung for taking the initiative. Now hopefully Intel will be able to put this potential banana skin behind them soonest possible…
