Toyota’s Prius hybrid vehicle did make quite a splash and has since gone through a few iterations, doing its bit to help keep the earth green. Well, the Japanese motoring giant will continue in their quest for greener vehicles by showcasing a fully-electric IQ prototype at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show next month, where this super compact four-seater is touted to offer a working range of 65 miles – that’s not very far, and certainly much shorter than other electric vehicles like the Chevy Volt. This prototype will hopefully see better range if it were to roll off the production line, but for the moment, we do know that it comes with a single electric motor that drives the front wheels, powered by a newly developed, flat and compact lithium-ion battery that is kept under the floor so that loadspace or passenger accommodation are not compromised. Undergoing tests on European roads this year, it is likely that the IQ prototype will arrive next year to the mass market.
