Verizon removes first month activation fee from the Motorola Xoom

Verizon has decided to remove the first month “hidden” activation fee for users purchasing the Motorola Xoom Honeycomb (Android 3.0) tablet off contract from them. It looks like all the complaining from customers who only wanted to use the tablet as a WiFi device finally paid off. Plus it helped lower the costs of the tablet by a fraction, seeing how not many people were willing to pay $800 for an Android tablet anyway. So folks, if the extra $55 activation fee was putting you off from purchasing the tablet, it looks like you won’t have pay for it anymore. Or you could just wait awhile longer for the WiFi-only version that puts the price at $600 – it’s your call. How many of you purchased your Motorola Xoom tablet today?
