Home > CellPhones > Amazon might be introducing mobile phone payment system

Amazon logoAmazon has been reported as exploring the possibility of starting a new mobile payment system that makes use of near field communication (NFC) technology. While this tip off comes from folks who do not wish to be named (due to confidentiality reasons), it doesn’t seem too farfetched at all. NFC usage is growing in the country and many other companies have been reported to be experimenting with the technology as well, it makes sense that Amazon would be looking to take advantage of it as well – after all they are one of the largest online merchants around. If Amazon does introduce an NFC payment system, it will be within the next 3 to 5 months. Stay tuned and we’ll keep you posted.
