With a population that has long surpassed the 1,000,000,000 mark, it comes as no surprise that the growing middle class in China are becoming more affluent, hence the increased purchasing power has allowed them to look beyond living with just the bare essentials to getting more luxuries around the home. It seems that the demand for LCD TVs in that part of the world has touched nearly 40 million units last year, bypassing the US in the process to become the largest LCD TV market worldwide. Among the local vendors to ride on this wave are Changhong, Haier, Hisense, Konka, Skyworth and TCL, making up 75%  of the China LCD TV market. This year, one expect’s China’s appetite for LCD TVs to exceed 45 million units – making this one active industry.
