[DEMO 2011] We all know that the boundary between enterprise and consumer applications is blurring, thanks to the rise of web 2.0 tools that people adopted for personal usage and now, they really want to access these tools  in their professional environment as well. The challenge is to get IT compliance, most of the time companies’ security policies prevent people from accessing the applications they are familiar with.
Divide, the product launched by Enterproid and winner of the Qualcomm QPrize competition, addresses this need: it allows professionals to totally separate their business and personal data and applications in their Android phone. The solution should be very attractive for small businesses in terms of cost optimization: employees will be able to keep their personal phones for business.

Divide let’s users have a business profile on their mobile phone and provide all the attributes companies are expecting in an enterprise mobile platform, including security, access control, and a set of enterprise applications like email, a web browser, instant messaging, and SMS. On the personal profile, people can do what they normally do on their phone, switching from business to personal profile is done in one tap on the home button.

Additionally, Divide provides an online device management platform that both companies and individuals can use to manage their Divide-enabled phones and tablets. Since ARC is cloud-based, no additional hardware or software is required to run it.

Divide is now available in private beta for Android phones and tablets running version 2.2 or greater, go to this page to request an invitation: www.enterproid.com. Versions for Windows Phone 7 and IOS will be developed later, and the pricing is still to be defined, the private beta will be free.

Andrew Toy, co-founder, Enterproid, gave me a demo, check the video to see how Divide works.
