Google receives patent for Google DoodleIt has taken a good, long 10 years for Google to win a patent on its “Google Doodles” – with the patent known as “Systems and methods for enticing users to access a web site”, where it will protect Google’s system of changing a company logo in order to be in line with a special event or storyline. Not only that, it also involves associating a link or search results with said special event logo. Having humble beginnings, Google co-founder Sergey Brin has been credited as the brain behind the Google Doodle. Some might say that this is pretty frivolous since a patent on doodles might not amount to much, who knows how Google might actually stumble upon a way to monetize the whole thing? After all, we’re talking about the company that actually developed a car which can drive itself.
