Leaked RIM software roadmap reveals BlackBerry OS 7.0

The 2011 roadmap for RIM’s software has recently found its way online, and provides an insight to what RIM has in store for us this year. If this proves to be the real deal, it looks like BlackBerry users might find themselves with an OS upgrade by the end of the year. According to the roadmap, in September to November, RIM will be working on something called “BB 7 SN Core Integration (OS 7.0)”. This obviously refers to the next version of the BlackBerry OS (currently it is at version 6) but it is uncertain what they mean by “Integration”. It seems safe to assume that BlackBerry devices will be receiving the BB OS 7.0 upgrade at the end of the year. Other notable details from the roadmap are 2 upgrades to BIS, and updated Facebook, Twitter and Social Feeds.
