Nintendo 3DS: the most pre-ordered console of all time on Amazon UK

If the 500,000 units of Nintendo 3DS that were sold out on day 1 in Japan weren’t enough to convince you that the 3DS is one hot-selling console, maybe the latest figures from Amazon UK will. Amazon UK announced that they have received more pre-orders for the 3DS than any other games console they’ve previously put up for sale. The Xbox 360, PS3 and the Wii all lost out to Nintendo’s portable glasses-free 3D gaming device. While they didn’t reveal any numbers, the amount of 3DS pre-orders were 20% greater than the PS3, 56% greater than the Wii and 255% greater than the DSi. While these are just Amazon pre-orders and not sales of the whole country, it doesn’t look like consoles are dying out anytime soon.
