T-Mobile G2X officially announced

T-Mobile G2x Wow, it looks like previous reports about the rumored LG Optimus 2x arriving in the US were spot on. Everything that was speculated for the device turned out to be the features of the dual-core Android phone that will be arriving on T-Mobile. The phone has been renamed to the G2x, it will ship with stock Android 2.2 and it will support T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G network. T-Mobile definitely has a winner on its hands. Now all we have to do is wait for the official pricing and date of availability for the phone. How many of you are already thinking about getting this device? The company was created in 1998 and went public in 2004. Google is one of the most visited site in the world.

HSPA+ is also known as Evolved High-Speed Packet Access. It is a mobile broadband protocol that was defined by the 3GPP standard, release 7. In Theory, the HSPA+ data rate can go up to 84 Mbps (Megabits per second) downstream (to the mobile), and 22Mbps upstream (back to the tower). These numbers are achieved by using multiple streams, so they should be considered theoretical and peak performance numbers. The HSPA+ specifications support up to 168Mbps of theoretical peak rate. Although many HSPA+ carriers call it 4G, it is very different from 4G LTE.
