Kinetic-powered watches are nothing new, although they did send a ripple of excitement through young teens when it first arrived. Well, Ventura has announced the SPARC MGS kinectic-powered timepiece which will be unveiled at BaselWorld 2011 in a few weeks’ time, relying on similar mechanisms to deliver juice for its LCD display as well as other digital parts. It seems that in the course of an average day, the wearer’s movements will turn an oscillating mass around 4,000 times, helping the integrated micro-generator to generate electricity so that the electronic bits inside will continue running fine and dandy. Hmmm, no more need for battery replacements are always a win in our books.
