Windows Phone 7 apps

After hitting the 5,000 apps mark at the end of December, there wasn’t a whole lot of news about the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace’s app count after that. Well, it’s been two months since then and it has been reported that the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace now carries over 9,000 apps. Talk about amazing growth of a mobile platform! The Windows Phone 7 Marketplace now carries more apps than HP’s webOS and will soon approach the 15,000 apps mark that has been reported to be available on the BlackBerry App World. After that, it will be a longer climb to reach the statures that the Android Market and iTunes App Store have obtained, but things look great so far. Let’s see if Microsoft can continue this explosive growth throughout the year.
