The Acer Iconia Tab A500 has been unboxed, and you can tell from the specifications alone that this is no standard entry-level tablet considering it comes with a dual core Nvidia Tegra  2 which includes two Cortex A9 cores and a GeForce GPU that will be able to handle modern graphics. Other hardware features that are crammed into its aluminum case include a 10.1″ capacitive mutli-touch WXGA display at 1280 x 800 resolution, a HDMI port for you to enjoy your favorite HD movies over on a flat screen TV, Wi-Fi connectivity and the option to have 3G if you want to fork out more dough (the latter is 30g heavier than the 700g Wi-Fi only model). On the back lies a 5-megapixel camera, while the front has a 2-megapixel camera for video calls. Depending on your needs, you can choose from either 16GB or 32GB of integrated memory. Up for pre-order in the UK, delivery is scheduled for April 20th if you’re interested. Sounds good on paper, but is it enough to tempt you away from the iPad 2?
