It was just a couple of months ago that Dell announced they will be rolling out a 10-inch, Windows 7-powered tablet sometime this year, and apparently that release date has been announced to be sometime this fall – which is still a long time away, relatively speaking. No idea on why the 10-inch tablet isn’t going to hit store shelves earlier, since Dell has long been talking about such a device being under wraps since October last year. In addition, being so late to the game isn’t going to leave anyone impressed, as Dell’s rivals, HP and Asus, have already rolled out Windows 7-powered tablets of their own. While Microsoft’s future version of Windows known as Windows 8 is touted to be more tablet-friendly, it won’t be ready not at least until early next year at best, and it is tipped that Dell will be rolling out a Windows 8 tablet sometime then as well. Would missing the school season affect the Streak’s sales figures? Perhaps some, but we don’t think that it will be by much.
