Sometimes, we do wish that concepts would not get realized – case in point, the FRIDA robot concept that is meant to see action at industrial assembly lines, where it will have soft edges in order to co-exist with human co-workers without injuring the latter. We think that FRIDA might just oust those human workers for good in the long run since they never get tired, don’t gossip among one another and are infinitely more dedicated to their job. The soft edges? They’re probably a red herring to lull humans into a false sense of security before you suddenly find yourself out of a job, made redundant by the FRIDA concept. No idea on pricing or availability as at press time, but it might still be some time to come before this concept is transformed into reality.
