Geely McCar

If you’ve seen the Dark Knight, I’m pretty sure you’ll remember the scene where Batman rides a funky looking bike out of his heavily armored vehicle (the Tumbler) when it was damaged. Well at the recent Auto Shanghai autoshow this week, Geely, a automotive manufacturer from China showed off a revolutionary vehicle named the McCar – a hybrid car that comes with a scooter in the rear.

The Geely McCar is an ultra compact, two-door, four-seater with a folding three-wheeled electric scooter in the rear. But what makes the McCar special is that it’s not just a bike stored in the trunk of a car – we can already do that now. But the fact that the McCar is a hybrid car that can generate electricity, the all-electric scooter can be charged while docked in the rear of the car. Talk about ingenious! With vehicles going as green as possible, the option of having an all-electric scooter that can be charged in a moving car sounds like an awesome idea to have.

If you were wondering why it’s called the McCar – it’s not trying to pull off a McDonald’s, rather it is the abbreviation of Magic Car. Hopefully it won’t get in trouble with the giant food franchise. No prices were mentioned but the McCar is expected to start rolling out next year.
