Developed in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, The Gracie Films Worldwide Brand Division and Locutio Voice Technologies, the original Homer Simpson voice which is recorded by Dan Castellaneta will be made available for TomTom’s entire range of personal navigation devices, retailing for $5.99 on your TomTom App for iPhone in the US. To make sure you know how significant this is, it is the maiden attempt at where a celebrity voice will be made available for cell phone-based GPS.

You can bet your bottom hard-earned dollar that the original Homer Simpson voice for the TomTom App for iPhone will be equipped with all the latest maps (TomTom version 1.7). Expect some of Homer’s own special pearls of wisdom including “Woo Hoo! You have reached your destination, and you can hold your head up high, because you are a genius!” to pepper your ears throughout the journey.
