European companies, where among them include at least one Swiss multinational, are currently delaying their paperless board meetings simply because the Apple iPad 2 is experiencing a shortage – now how about that as a testimony of the tablet’s popularity?It seems that company secretaries in Europe are embracing the original iPad and a specialised iPad app known as Boardbooks from Diligent, which is a New Zealand-based software developer, as a method to save both time and money instead of sending out packages of board papers to directors every single month. Obviously with the iPad 2′s release, many companies are waiting to make the switch. Surely one isn’t going to hold off a board meeting simply because of the lack of hardware, can’t they use the existing iPad and its software? Makes us wonder how the world actually ran when Apple didn’t exist…
