The tablet world is evolving – you not only have tablet devices that are meant to be used casually (how else do you explain the explosive growth of low-end and mid-range Android phones?), but there seems to be a market for business oriented tablets as well, at least that is the direction where Onkyo is veering towards as they start to propose such a model for its Windows 7-powered tablet that will arrive in the Land of the Rising Sun from early May onwards.

There will be a couple of different models for the Windows 7-powered tablets, where the 11.6″ model sports a 1,366 × 728 resolution (model number TW317A7PH) while the 10.1″ device will come with 1,024 × 600 resolution (model number TW117A7PH). Both of them will share some rather similar specifications underneath the hood – an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor, 2GB RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, Windows 7 Business as the operating system of choice (and hence the targeted “business” segment as mentioned) and a 32GB SSD that is found in the 11.6” model. If you opt for the 10.1” version, that will come with much more space – 160GB, although we are looking at a hard drive performance.

It does not look as though these will perform well in the broader market, as they seem to be more of a novelty than functional, occupying no-man’s land in terms of functionality.
