Whispers abound of a unicorn-like permanent unlock solution for the Apple iPhone 4 as well as other models, where it is touted to work without going through the jailbreaking process in the beginning. Normally, most of the other standard cell phone unlocking services work like this – where you pay a fee and hand over your IMEI number, followed by receiving a code which in turn is input into your device. Apple’s iPhone, however, is special in its own way, so the unlocking is done straight from iTunes itself. No idea how third parties managed to throw in IMEIs to Appleās system, but it has been confirmed from successful unlocks that the service works – without having to jailbreak your iPhone 4 beforehand, too! Apple has so far remained mum on the situation, but we expect them to come up with a firm reaction sooner or later.
