As expected, Samsung has informed the masses that their Droid Charge will no longer be launched today because of the 4G outage. As mentioned earlier, the outage would mean 4G LTE devices cannot run at its fastest speed, and no 4G LTE devices can be activated as well, so it makes perfect sense for the Samsung Droid Charge to not being released – never mind that Verizon Wireless already has the network up and running without a problem.

This must have come across as a rather big blow to Samsung since they did invest quite a lot of money in a huge Twitter marketing campaign. This leads us to wonder whether Verizon is able to make sure that such an outage will never happen down the road – at least not for such a long time.

Does this mean Apple will take their chances with Verizon Wireless for a 4G LTE iPhone when the time arises? Perhaps, as it would be on the losing end of Cupertino not to extend their reach across as many different mobile carriers as possible.
