Samsung’s flagship Android phone, the Galaxy S, was promised to have Gingerbread (Android 2.3) by the end of March – but from the looks of how things have been it looks like the promise wasn’t kept. However, UK mobile carrier, Three has stepped up to the plate and announced on their official Twitter page that the Android phone will be getting its upgrade – within a matter of weeks. While this hasn’t been confirmed by Samsung themselves, the carrier must have some information if not they wouldn’t be proclaiming such a thing right? So it looks like Gingerbread will arrive within the next few weeks – at least for the Galaxy S phones in the UK. Either way, there’s nothing for us to do but sit and wait. I wonder when will our carriers start promising Android 2.3 for all the rebadged Galaxy S phones?
