Folks who have been hankering after the CDMA Sony Ericsson Xperia Play will be pleased to know that the good people over at the FCC have given their collective nod of approval for the handset before it arrives on Verizon Wireless. The FCC has also revealed images of what the handset looks on the inside, showing off a SIM card slot within. While Verizon never let out anything on this smartphone being 4G LTE capable, the SIM card slot could very well be there for that particular purpose, unless it is being slated to be a global phone. So is this a phone primarily, and a communications device second, or vice versa? It is pretty hard to tell at the moment, and we will have to wait until a whole bunch of people adopt this as their handset of choice before a census can be taken to find out the answer. Rumors do point towards the Xperia Play launching this coming April 14th on Verizon Wireless though.
