Altec Lansing has started to ship the MIX iMT810 digital boombox, where this portable music playback machine is capable of accommodating Apple’s iPods and iPhones, including the latest iPhone 4 (hopefully with the iPhone 4S as well). The MIX iMT810 will sport aluminum accents and grips, encasing a 5.25″ subwoofer in addition to a 5.25″ passive radiator pump – not to mention getting the company of horn-loaded tweeters and mid-range drivers.

All relevant audio and music information (we believe they call those metadata) will be shown off on a blue LCD display, and you can access a digital seven-band graphic equalizer with a quartet of factory presets to choose from in order to best fit the tunes that you are currently playing. iPods and iPhones are not the only devices to play nice with the MIX iMT810, as a couple of auxiliary 3.5mm inputs and an integrated FM tuner help complete the picture. Needless to say, as with any other iDevice dock, your iOS-powered phone or portable media player will be juiced whenever docked with the iMT810 remaining plugged into a wall.

Alternatively, you can have this run on eight D-cell batteries, with a promised battery life of 30 hours – of course, we believe this is when you aren’t playing it at full blast. The Altec Lansing MIX iMT810 will retail for $300 a pop.
