Looking for an alternative to the Mac App Store? You’re in luck. Amazon has just launched its own app store for Mac computers called the Mac Download Store (good thing they didn’t call it the Appstore for Mac, right?). As of now, it has around 250 apps available for download. From games like Call of Duty 4 to productivity tools like Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop Elements.
It will provide a similar experience to the Mac App Store – login, select the apps you want to buy, pay for them and download them to your computer, ready to be run. The only difference is what Amazon is known for – its mad discounts, which should encourage more folks to use its app store over Apple’s. No word if they’ll be having the same “free app of the day” promotion like they’re doing on Android, but you can check out the Amazon Mac Download Store.
