Sending and receiving greeting cards could be a sunset industry with all the e-cards that are flying around in the virtual world these days, but that does not mean greeting card companies will throw in the towel. Of course, over the years, there were some improvements made to the greeting cards industry, including pop up cut outs, as well as music playing the moment the card is opened. American Greetings has upped the ante with the introduction of a digital slideshow card which boasts of a 1.8″ LCD display that is capable of playing back a bunch of digital photos accompanied by a soundtrack of your choice.

Pre-loaded versions are available if you’re too lazy to think of something up yourself, and you can also opt to go through an available collection of animated slides, but chances are quite good that most folks will go for the customizable version that comprises of a short USB cable so that you can upload up to 50 photos of your choice.

The moment the card is opened, it will play the slideshow and cue the music automagically. Nice to know that the card is rechargeable itself, allowing yourself to enjoy it over and over again. Just make sure those MP3 files of yours are legit of course.
