Apple, the company that more often than not is at the forefront of technology, is now talking to a Taiwanese firm known as Capella Microsystems. No big deal, you say – after all, companies tend to talk to one another from time to time, but wait till you hear what Capella Microsystems does and that might just help perk you up a bit. This is a company is rumored to have already delivered ambient light sensor samples over to Apple for verification, so that might just translate to different ambient light sensors being integrated into future iPhone models – at least that is the logical conclusion from industry sources.

Whispers on the street have it that Capella Microsystems has been sought out by Apple because of problems that plagued the sensor in the iPhone 4, but it must be noted that part orders would only be made by the end of this year at best, so you can rule out the current iPhone 4 model getting new ambient sensors – perhaps the iPhone 5 would?

Of course, Cupertino does not intend to put all their apples in one basket – er, I meant eggs, and is also said to be in negotiations with Taiwanese supplier Integrated Memory Logic, also known as iML. It seems that Apple will most probably rely on iML’s programmable gamma buffers in the iPad. Nice to know the tech in your hand is truly a global collaboration, right?
