BMW developing vehicle warning system to help you with your left turns

Folks who are prone to causing accidents when making left turns will be glad to know that in the future, they won’t have to worry so much – just as long as they’re driving a BMW vehicle. The German car manufacturer is working on a warning system that helps to prevent drivers from causing accidents when making left turns or U-turns – one of the most common maneuvers that cause drivers to hit pedestrians or motorcyclists.

The system makes use of a camera and sensors on the vehicle to scan for any nearby objects. If something is detected, the car will automatically brake and alerts will pop up to notify the driver. While this could be very helpful in preventing accidents from happening, don’t you feel that all this can be avoided if drivers and pedestrians were more careful in the first place? Sometimes I think that we’re being spoon-fed by technology a little too much.
