CNET has an exclusive scoop, where they claim that Apple is very close to signing a cloud-music licensing agreement with EMI Music, in addition to being nearly there when it comes to completing deals with Universal Music Group and Sony Music Entertainment. At the moment, Warner Music Group has already inked a deal with Apple (as reported by numerous sources last month), where the licensing agreements will allow Apple to roll out a fully licensed cloud-music service that might just step on Amazon and Google’s toes – since they too have unlicensed offerings over the cloud.

It might be as early as next week when negotiations with Sony Music Group and Universal Music Group are wrapped up, and should that happen, all signed contracts with the top four record companies will be connected to Apple by June 6th – that’d be a feather in Cupertino’s cap as Apple launches this year’s edition of the Worldwide Developers Conference. Would you prefer to carry your music on a physical device with you, or do you think cloud storage is the way to go?
