Chromium OS handwritingDespite what Google has mentioned about Google’s Chrome OS not arriving on tablets (which will be reserved for Android instead), there seems to be hints that the operating system might be headed to or were originally designed for tablets. Some folks were checking out the latest developer APIs for Chromium OS (the open source version of Chrome OS) and found an experimental feature called handwriting input.

The new handwriting input support will allow users to write characters using their fingertip, mouse or a trackpad. While there’s no guarantee that the feature will make it over to the Chrome OS, it does show that the folks behind the operating system aren’t discounting the possibilities. A touchscreen/notebook with Chrome OS does sound like a cool possibility. Imagine all the added functionalities users would get with a touchscreen. How many of you use handwriting recognition on a frequent basis?
