HTC’s upcoming DoubleShot has gone through plenty of rounds in the rumor mills over the past couple of months, and said rumors have pointed towards Android 2.3 Gingerbread, an 800 x 480 resolution display, a QWERTY sliding keypad, a 1.2GHz processor and a 6-megapixel camera with HDR capabilities. Not only that, to add more spice to the soup, some people are even wondering whether the DoubleShot name points towards a semblance of 3D capability. Perhaps all of the curious out there are able to lay their ghosts to rest with the DoubleShot appearing on the FCC, which means said smartphone is ready to rock and roll soon.
Known as the PG58100 in FCC documents, the DoubleShot will deliver support for GSM 850 and 1900 bands, in addition to T-Mobile’s WCDMA band IV 3G network. FCC documents also point towards front and rear facing video/still cameras, Wi-Fi connectivity and Bluetooth support.
Officially, HTC has yet to reveal more information concerning the DoubleShot, especially the twin trivia that most folks look forward to – pricing and availability. We do believe that this will end up in the high end range of $199.99 on a 2-year contract, what about you?
