Excel

Microsoft’s competitor to Google Docs, a cloud-based office productivity suite, Office Web Apps has just been updated with a couple of nifty new features to make life easier for Excel and PowerPoint users.

Excel now allows users to insert, delete, and rename individual worksheets in a workbook, just like the desktop version. All you have to do is open the Excel file in the online editor, right click on a tab for an existing worksheet, and you’ll see the Insert, Delete and Rename option. The AutoSum feature is also included in the update – just access it from the toolbar.

PowerPoint users now have access to the Change Theme button, allowing users to easily change how their presentation will look like with one simple click. With 45 themes to choose from, no two presentations will have to look the same.

I think that with enough upgrades over time, Office Web Apps is going to be indistinguishable from the offline version of Office. How many of you use Office Web Apps on a frequent basis?
