Motorola’s Cliq 2 is no flagship handset where the Android smartphone market is concerned, but that does not mean the Cliq 2 is a slouch –  no sir, it is a decent mid-range messaging phone from T-Mobile, and the inclusion of MotoBlur actually made it a whole lot easier to use when it comes to social networking purposes. Too bad power users will have performance issues with it, since the 1GHz processor does not seem to live up to its billing when in action. Of course, there are many reasons as to why that is so, but at least Motorola intends to do their part by making sure a firmware update might just solve that problem. Hence, the Big M is looking for Cliq 2 owners who are willing to be guinea pigs, so to speak, where 200 volunteers will be able to enjoy the smartphone’s 1.1.30 update before it sees a worldwide release.

Anyone who is curious can submit responses to a brief survey indicating their interest in testing the update, and amongst the improvements that are touted to come with this update include a speed boost, better to widget performance, improved battery life, as well as fewer random app crashes. If you’re a Motorola Cliq 2 owner, would you throw caution to the wind and be one of the 200?
