iPod Nano 7GRemember the next generation iPod Nano with a camera that was leaked earlier this week? Well now, some possiblenew features of the 7th generation iPod Nano have surfaced. A recently discovered patent from Apple shows that the company filed a patent for an iPod Nano that describes “adding new sensors to the iPod nano, including a camera, to add new functionality” but it doesn’t mention which iPod Nano Apple was referring to.

In the patent, the image of the iPod Nano looks like the current generation model – a square shaped device with a touchscreen, which means that the patent couldn’t have been for the 5th generation iPod Nano that had a camera. Other features described in the patent include a motion sensor, temperature gauge, and a microphone which suggest that the iPod Nano is going to be used for more than just playing music. As usual, a patent doesn’t mean anything if the company that files it never puts it to use, but if these features do make it to the next iPod Nano, it’s not going to be too much of a surprise.
