Pixel Qi has decided to ride on the tablet wave at Computex to introduce two more sizes of its displays that were specially optimized for tablets, where the 10″ flagship model will boast of an 1,280 x 800 resolution, making it sharper than ever before without putting on any fat at just 3mm. The display was compared to an iPad by Pixel Qi CEO Mary Lou Jepsen in a video demo, and Pixel Qi’s display clearly stood out when it was shown under the sun, while the iPad’s standard LCD was nearly invisible.

There is also a 7″ model that features 1,024 x 600 resolution, targeting devices with smaller designs. This will be thicker though, starting at 4mm but it might eventually end up at half that thickness in the long run. Expect bulk production to begin later this summer.

Apart from those two, a bistable screen (also known as one which is able to retain its latest output even when there is no power supplied to it) is currently being thought over, and it remains on hardware-churning companies to adopt this idea before it can be produced.
