Seagate – a name that is more often than not associated with storage space on your computer (be it portable or not), has just announced that they plan to introduce what is deemed to be a “perfect companion” for iPads as well as other tablets in the market later this May. It seems that Seagate’s offering will be a first of a kind device, and it has set the cogs in our brains to work overtime trying to eke out a guess on what it could be exactly.

Since it is Seagate that we are talking about here, surely the offering must come with some sort of storage within, like a hard drive. The company has already had the iPad in mind with their TV Remote app, which in essence allows an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch be function as a controller for a GoFlex TV or FreeAgent Theater media player over a Wi-Fi connection.

What do you think Seagate would do with their upcoming mystery announcement? Will it be a game changer, or is it yawn inducing? Only time will tell, so it makes perfect sense to remain patient and let the days go by in the calendar.
