T-Mobile might just have let us in on their plans for another tablet device hitting the market from their stables in the near future, thanks to a leak of its registrations for a name with a USPTO trademark for “SnapPad” – not to mention a bunch of other domain name registrations, including SnapPad.biz and various other variants including T-MobileSnapPad.com and .net. As for the trademark, it only implies that it is meant for “tablet computers.”
The G-Slate is the first tablet from T-Mobile, and commendation must be given to the telco company as they have kept everything hush hush concerning the SnapPad so far. Could this eventually be the rebadging of a future tablet from HTC or Samsung? Only time will tell, but we do know that HSPA+ Internet access will be a definite feature. Perhaps it might end up as a native version of Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the HTC Puccini.
The trademark and web addresses do not let us in on a launch date, since both of them are normally registered months ahead and we might just see the SnapPad arrive in time for Christmas instead.
