UFi has just rolled out a spanking new line of devices, with the UCube Compact USB Digital Speakers being one of them to keep your ears happy. Measuring all of just 3″ square, the UCubes are not only personal but highly portable, making them ideal for use in most places, ranging from your desk at home or if you’re always moving around. For those who are tired of computer peripherals that come in boring shades of black, silver or white, you can expect UFi to make a difference with fashion-forward colors on custom brushed aluminum stands.

Digital Signal Processor (DSP)-controlled power supplies and DSP-equalized signals are thrown into the mix, where your ears will be able to enjoy 170 degrees of stereo audio, receiving power and signal via USB. Setting it up is a snap – just ocnnect the speakers with the provided cable, hook the left speaker into your computer’s available USB port and you’re good to go.

Despite the fact that USB ports are limited to just 5 volts of juice, UCubes’ “smart” DSP-controlled power supply will stash energy during quiet passages, letting the class-D amplifier achieve a full 15W equivalent power output for clean, dynamic sound that will not break up even if you crank the volume up. Would you fork out $149.99 for this?
