One of the most beloved phones on Sprint’s network, the EVO 4G will be receiving its long-awaited Gingerbread update beginning this Friday. The folks at Engadget managed to get their hands on a leaked Sprint documents concerning the release of the update and it turns out, starting this Friday, EVO 4G users can manually pull the Gingerbread update on their phones. For folks who would rather wait, Sprint will be pushing out the update next Monday, on June 6th.
In addition to the Gingerbread update, the EVO 4G will also be receiving a download app, a fix for the SMS bug that causes users to text the wrong contacts, battery charging issues, and multiple Gmail accounts not syncing. It looks like a lot of phones will be getting Gingerbread goodness real soon. Keep those fingers on the check for update button this Friday.
