If you happen to be in possession of the HTC EVO 4G, surely you were pleased as punch to obtain the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the device, but unfortunately for us, the update did not work as well as intended since it gimped the ability for the handset to support streaming both movies and TV shows from the Netflix app on the Android Market. Doesn’t sound as though the world would end, yes, but that does not absolve the responsibility of the update for such a snafu. After all, ever since the Netflix app for the Android platform was launched, it has gained its fair share of followers who loved killing time by catching a movie on the handset when possible.

Netflix not working any more is one problem, the other would be issues that plague the visual voicemail as well as the Hearing Aid compatibility menu. The latter saw some menu options disappear, raising even more questions than delivering answers. Kudos to HTC for understanding the kind of frustration that such issues could cause, which is why the HTC EVO 4G will be receiving an OTA (Over The Air) update which ought to see the last of such issues. Monday can’t come fast enough for EVO 4G owners, no?
