We first took a look (pun not intended) at the Looxcie back in September last year, and know that it supports the iPhone as well right before Christmas of 2010, but like all good things, they must come to an end – case in point, the Looxcie will have a successor which is aptly named the Looxcie 2. This model has already gone through the rigors of the FCC last month, so it makes perfect sense that having passed that stage of its device life, it will now need to make its way to the consumer market – and here we are with the sleek new Looxcie 2.

Boasting an entirely new design, the Looxcie 2 will be 20%  lighter and nearly half the size of the original size without sacrificing on battery capacity as well as video capture and sharing features. Other attachment accessories of the Looxcie 2 will let you wear in a wide range of methods, including snugly over the ear, on helmets, caps and more.

Available in two configurations, the Looxcie 2 can store up to 10 and 5 hours of video footage in 8GB and 4GB capacities, respectively. The 4GB model will cost you $179 while the 8GB model is (of course) slightly more expensive at $199 – making it a no brainer just which one you ought to get for the best bang for your hard-earned buck. All recorded video will be stored in MP4 format, and you can choose from 320p or 480p resolution with instant clip creation and sharing to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or iCloud thrown into the mix.
