Modern Warfare 3 comes out guns blazing on Xbox 360

The first game at Microsoft’s E3 Xbox 360 press conference? Modern Warfare 3. Microsoft says that 2010 was the Xbox 360′s “best year in Xbox history.” The Call of Duty franchise helped the Xbox 360 continue its momentum.

A trailer for Modern Warfare 3 showing off the game’s new engine (graphics are amazing) and water effects was followed by thunderous applause. I guess people are still lusting for more Modern Warfare after all. Meanwhile, competitors like EA’s Battlefield 3 remain confident they can overtake Call of Duty’s FPS dominance.
