Panasonic knows that there is a market ready and waiting for their range of camcorders and digital cameras, hence coming up with a price list for a bunch of their devices before they arrive at the market early next month. First of all, we have the tough as nails (to a certain extent, of course) HM-TA20 camera that will retail for $199.99, while the remaining models would go for $169.99 for the HM-TA2; $349.99 for the HX-WA10; $279.99 for the HX-DC10; and $199.99 for the HX-DC1 – where all of them will be released early next month onwards.

Just to get a better idea of what you might end up right out of the box, here is a quick primer for the HM-TA20. This full HD mobile camera will sport a rugged design that is not only waterproof (up to 10 feet thereabouts), it is also dustproof and shockproof – with the latter being able to shrug off drops of up to 5 feet. With Night View Mode, it will help you shoot better videos and photos despite the lack of light.

Being small and compact, the Panasonic HM-TA20 has a small 3″ Touch LCD display that makes it a whole lot easier and more intuitive to use. All video will be recorded in MPEG-4 AVC file format (MP4), while a built-in USB terminal will make it much more convenient to transfer data to your computer when connected. Capable of working as a webcam as well, this is one device that ought to interest those who want something affordable and yet is capable. [Press Release]
