At first glance, you might think that the TriggerTrap, being a Kickstarter project, is some sort of high-tech ghost trap which is something that the Ghostbusters might use, or a newfangled mouse trap – but actually, this is a universal camera trigger. What the device brings to the table would be timelapse photography, where it will trigger your camera based on laser and sound. Apart from that, it is also capable of performing non-linear timelapse photography; where you can opt to extend or reduce the gap between each photo automatically, and to enable the illusion of your animation speeding up or showing down.

What makes it all the more interesting would be the Aux input that lets you hook up just about anything to your camera. Imagine ringing your bicycle’s bell to get a photo taken, or each time there is an incoming call on your handset, another photo is taken as well.

Seems to be the perfect addition to the tools of any experimental photographer, it will need $8,500 worth of backing from the public. Do you think the TriggerTrap can take off in a big way?
