Acer has a spanking new Aspire 5755 notebook for those who want a new notebook that is not only light on your wallet, but is capable of delivering some decent performances. With the Acer Aspire 5755, this model might be just the ticket for you, sporting a 15.6″ display, although at that size, we must say that we are disappointed with its relatively low 1,366 x 768 resolution count.

We are willing to overlook that lack of resolution because the Acer Aspire 5755 does have built-in WiDi – letting you view movies or videos of your choice on another display which is far larger, without having the need to tote around cables.

Processor-wise, you will get the standard roll call of Intel Core processors (up to a Core i7-2820QM), with a maximum of 8GB RAM crammed inside alongside 1TB of storage space, tops. Graphical performance is delivered via NVIDIA’s Optimus-enabled GeForce GT 540M graphics card, where you can opt for either a Blu-ray or basic DVD drive with a starting price of £899. No idea on when it will hit the US, but it is already available for purchase in the UK.
