Love being mayor without having to run for office and hold expensive campaigns when election time comes around? There’s an easier to achieve that goal – through the use of Foursquare, where checking in enough times over the course of time will elevate you to mayor status – granted, other people will definitely be breathing down your neck in the position sweepstakes, so getting there is hard work, but maintaining your position makes things even other.

Windows Phone 7-powered users can now jump about the Foursquare bandwagon and enjoy the experience all the more as an official version 2.3 of the app is now available over at the Marketplace, where features and fixes in version 2.3 will comprise of working Facebook and Twitter settings and updated Live Tiles.

For those of you running on Windows Phone 7, have you performed the installation and start your long climb up to the top? All the best to you and remember not to step on people’s heads while you’re on the way up – you will need to go through them on the way down.
