Do you love checking in using Foursquare? After all, it is a whole lot cheaper compared to checking in to a particular hotel and paying a couple of hundred dollars each night, right? Good news for Symbian-powered phone owners who are using Foursquare – the app has just been updated to the latest version, which means the old app has already stopped working, so thankfully the latest version available over at the Ovi Store will help you communicate properly with the service.

The entire app weighs in at just 500kb, so it shouldn’t take too long to arrive on your handset. The latest version will also play nice with the new Foursquare version 2 API, where it is available for Symbian 3rd & 5th edition in addition to Symbian^3 phones. Since the recent Series 40 app already relies on the updated API, it will need no upgrade.

Some users have claimed that they have installation issues, with the handset claiming the version has already been installed. Anyone run into the same problems or do you have a solution? Do share with us in the comments.
