New BlackBerry phone to be announced tomorrow?

A visit to the official BlackBerry Facebook page today will lead you to a very interesting status update from RIM. Here’s what RIM has to say on its latest wall post:

Hey Team BlackBerry, what’s shiny, new and social all over? We want to tell you all about it. Can you guess what it might be? Tune in tomorrow for details!

As vague as it sounds, it seems to point towards a new phone being announced or launched tomorrow. With the slew of BlackBerry phones surfacing all over the internet recently, it wouldn’t be surprising to find out one of those phones going official tomorrow. I guess we’ll just have to wait – good thing tomorrow isn’t too far away. What do you think will be announced? Drop us a comment below.

RIM: RIM is the acronym for Research In Motion, the Canadian company behind the BlackBerry brand. RIM was founded in the mid 90s by Mike Lazaridis and with Jim Balsillie and went IPO (Initial Public Offering) in 1998. Its claim to fame was to make mobile email really effective and enterprises quickly adopted its devices and associated software and services which were highly lucrative. With the rise of iOS and Android devices, the BlackBerry franchise bumped into trouble and its decline prompted RIM to take a radical step by overhauling its BlackBerry operating system (OS) completely with QNX. The first version of the QNX BlackBerry OS is BlackBerry 10 or BB10.
