iOS users may not be familiar with Vlingo, which is an app that is Android’s version of voice control, which has since had some of its features taken by Google and integrated into the Android platform. It used to cost $10 but is now free. Android users who do not know about Vlingo should probably check it out.

Recently the Vlingo Virtual Assistant has been updated to version 3.0, and brought along with it several new features as well as a brand new user interface which is clean, polished and looking very sharp and intuitive, which looks like it could make accessing some Vlingo’s features extremely easy.

It also brought about several new languages that it can be used with, namely French, Italian, German and Spanish and also beta support for Japanese and Korean. As we mentioned, the app is free so if you’re interested in giving it a spin or looking for an alternative to Google’s Voice Search, head on down to the Android Market.
