Word on the street has it that Acer will have yet another smartphone coming your way this September, where it will come with a rather large 4.8″ display at 1,024 x 480 resolution, known as the Iconia Smart. While it has been launched officially, there is still no sight of it – but good thing a recent update on Acer’s German Facebook page did make the whole picture clearer.

According to Acer Germany, the Iconia Smart will released sometime in the middle of next month onwards, retailing for around $730 a pop. Of course, that information refers only to the handset’s German release – but then again, there is also the possibility of seeing the Iconia Smart arrive in other parts of Europe within a similar timeframe.

Those who love to watch movies will find the Iconia Smart’s 21:9 aspect ratio screen to be a boon – it is a whole lot better and larger compared to the majority of the other Android smartphones. Any takers? The unlocked price seems a bit steep – don’t you think so?
